Pinetoppers pitcher David Triplet has been signed to a minor-league contract with the New York Yankees. In his first appearance for the Gulf Coast League Yankees on Saturday, Triplet threw one scoreless inning. Triplet faced four batters allowing no hits or walks and recorded one strikeout.

The 23-year-old right-hander appeared in fourteen games for the Macon Pinetoppers and recorded 21 strkeouts in 20 1/3 innings of work.  Triplet is the first Peach State League player to be signed to a contract by an MLB affiliated team.
